Faith-Based Therapy for
Anxiety & Depression

You Were Not Created to Carry This Alone

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Anxiety and depression can feel deeply lonely.

Sometimes they show up as panic, racing thoughts, tears, exhaustion, or a heaviness you cannot explain. Other times, they hide behind functioning. You keep showing up, serving, caring for others, and doing what needs to be done — but inside, you may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or afraid something is wrong with you.

At Whole Story Wellness, we want you to know this clearly: anxiety and depression are not signs of spiritual failure. They are not proof that you are weak, faithless, or broken. They are signs that your mind, body, and spirit may need compassionate care.

God’s heart is not to shame you in your suffering. His heart is to meet you in it.

When Faith and Emotional Pain Feel Spiritual

For many people, anxiety and depression are not only emotional struggles. They can also become spiritual questions.

You may wonder why you still feel anxious when you trust God, why prayer feels hard, why peace feels far away, or why your body still feels overwhelmed even when you know truth in your mind.

At Whole Story Wellness, we believe faith matters deeply. Prayer matters. Scripture matters. The presence of God matters.

And your body matters, too.

Your history, biology, grief, stress patterns, relationships, and nervous system all matter. You are a whole person, and your healing deserves whole-person care.

A Faith-Based Approach to Healing

Faith-based therapy at Whole Story Wellness is not about forcing spiritual answers onto emotional pain.

It is not about rushing you into a verse, a conclusion, or a performance of peace.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the true Counselor, Comforter, and Guide. Our role is to come

alongside you with biblical wisdom, clinical awareness, prayerful sensitivity, and whole-person support.

You do not have to have perfect faith to begin.
You do not have to know exactly what to say.
You do not have to hide your questions.
You do not have to pretend you are okay.

God is not afraid of your anxiety.
He is not disappointed by your depression.
He is near to the brokenhearted.

How Whole Story Wellness Supports Healing

At Whole Story Wellness, we understand that anxiety and depression can have emotional, spiritual, physical, relational, and biological roots. We do not look at one symptom in isolation. We listen to the whole story.

Ginger walks with clients through the emotional, relational, and spiritual areas where healing is needed, helping them explore theological concepts in a way that brings clarity, freedom, and restoration.

Together, you may look at the beliefs, wounds, fears, grief, relationship patterns, or spiritual misunderstandings that are contributing to anxiety or depression. This may include past trauma, chronic stress, family dynamics, perfectionism, people-pleasing, unresolved loss, or places where your view of God, yourself, or others has been shaped by pain.

The goal is not to judge your emotions or rush you into the “right” answer. It is to gently bring your story into the light of God’s truth and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal what needs care, correction, healing, and peace.

Anxiety and depression often live in the body, not just the mind.

When the nervous system has been under stress for too long, it can become stuck in survival patterns — fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown. You may know what is true, but still feel overwhelmed physically.

Through gentle grounding practices, breathwork, body awareness, and regulation tools, we help your body begin to learn:

I am safe right now.
I can slow down.
I can breathe again.
I do not have to stay in survival mode.

Sometimes anxiety and depression are also connected to what is happening in the body.

Hormones, gut health, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, blood sugar imbalance, thyroid function, sleep disruption, and chronic stress can all affect mood, energy, and emotional resilience.

Through functional medicine, Whole Story Wellness looks deeper at the physical systems that may be contributing to how you feel. Your symptoms are not “all in your head.” Your body may be asking for support.

Whole Story Wellness offers support through in-person care, online sessions, and group programs, allowing you to receive care in the setting that feels most supportive for your season.

Some people come when they are in crisis.
Some come after years of quietly pushing through.
Some come because traditional therapy has helped, but something still feels incomplete.
Some come because they want faith to be part of the healing process without feeling pressured, judged, or spiritually minimized.

Wherever you are, you are welcome here.

What Our Patients Say

5/5

Before meeting Ginger, I had been trying on and off again to lose the 20 plus pounds I had put on in less than a year. I had tried intermittent fasting, low-carb diet and exercise.

5/5

As a result of a series of childhood traumas, and as a young adult, I have found myself toting around unwanted baggage that has had severe repercussions on the way I live every single day.

5/5

I’m an educator and very used to approaching teaching and learning with the “Whole” child in mind. When I was recommended to Ginger and her business, “Whole Story Wellness”, I immediately felt like this could be the place for me.
