Maybe anxiety has been part of your life for years.

You have experienced panic attacks that seem to come out of nowhere. Your heart races. Your chest tightens. Your thoughts spiral. You feel exhausted but cannot fully relax.

Maybe you have gone to therapy.

Maybe you have taken medication.

Maybe both have helped—but you still find yourself wondering:

Why do I feel this way in the first place?

And perhaps you are tired of feeling like your only options are learning to cope with the symptoms or adding another medication.

At Whole Story Wellness, we believe that question deserves more attention.

Anxiety Is Real. But It May Not Be the Whole Story.

When someone says, “I have anxiety,” it is easy for anxiety to become the entire explanation.

But what you are feeling may be telling us something.

Your emotional experiences matter. Trauma matters. Relationships matter. Thought patterns matter.

But we also want to know what is happening in your body.

How are you sleeping?

How is your nervous system functioning?

What is happening with your nutrition and gut health?

Are hormonal or metabolic changes part of the picture?

What does your daily stress load look like?

Are there environmental exposures that deserve consideration?

What happened before your anxiety became chronic?

Instead of deciding ahead of time that anxiety is only emotional or only physical, we look at the connections.

What If You Need Therapy AND Someone to Look Deeper?

This is where the Whole Story Wellness model is different.

You should not have to choose between finding a therapist who understands your emotional story and finding someone who wants to investigate what may be happening physically.

Our team brings those pieces together.

Therapy and counseling can help you work through trauma, grief, relationships, fear, beliefs, coping patterns, and the experiences your nervous system may still be responding to.

Functional Medicine Coaching with Ginger Stanfield helps look at the larger patterns surrounding your health—including sleep, nutrition, gut health, metabolism, stress, routines, environment, nervous-system regulation, and other foundational areas.

And when medical evaluation is needed, our MD can bring physician-led care into the process, including appropriate evaluation and testing.

You are not being passed between completely disconnected approaches.

We are trying to understand the same person.

What If Medication Helped—but You Want to Know What Else You Can Do?

Medication can be an important part of mental-health care.

But you may reach a point where you want to know whether there are additional ways to support your health.

That does not mean you failed because you took medication.

And it does not mean you should suddenly stop taking it.

If medication changes are ever appropriate, they should happen with proper medical supervision.

What it can mean is that we begin asking more questions.

Are there foundational areas that have never been addressed?

Is your body constantly operating under stress?

Are you sleeping enough to recover?

Are physical symptoms feeding your sense of alarm?

Are trauma or relational experiences keeping your nervous system activated?

Have you been trying to silence the alarm without understanding what it may be responding to?

Ginger described this approach as looking at anxiety as information that deserves investigation rather than automatically turning it into a person’s identity.

We Do Not Want to Reduce You to a Diagnosis

A diagnosis can be useful.

But it does not tell your entire story.

At Whole Story Wellness, we want to understand what you are feeling and what may be contributing to it.

That may involve therapy.

Functional Medicine Coaching.

Medical evaluation.

Nutrition.

Nervous-system regulation.

Biblical Coaching.

Or a combination of several forms of support.

The goal is not to throw everything at you at once. Whole Story’s approach is to strengthen foundational areas, see how you respond, and then determine what additional support is actually needed.

You May Not Need Another Place to Manage Anxiety

You may need a place willing to ask a bigger question:

What is your anxiety trying to tell us about your whole story?

If you have been dealing with chronic anxiety, panic attacks, or feeling constantly on edge—and you are ready for care that considers both your emotional and physical health—we would love to begin that conversation with you.
